The distribution center is also the first in Tractor Supply's network to implement Order Storage and Retrieval/Automated Storage and Retrieval System (OSR/ASRS) technology. It can automatically convey systems to store, sequence and move products safely and more efficiently, according to the retailer.

Tractor Supply has opened a distribution center in Nampa, Idaho, the retailer’s 11th such facility.

The distribution center is 865,000 square feet, and the retailer said it will bring 500 full-time jobs to the region. It features additional acreage for future expansion, according to the retailer, as well as 80 truck docks that it said it has optimized for inbound and outbound traffic flow.

The new Tractor Supply distribution center will support 123 stores across nine states in its first year. Tractor Supply said it designed the facility to serve more than 200 stores at full operational capacity. As of June 27, the end of its fiscal Q2, Tractor Supply operated 2,463 stores across 49 states. It also operated 209 “Petsense by Tractor Supply” stores in 23 states.

CEO Hal Lawton said at Barclays 19th Annual Global Consumer Staples Conference in early September that for about five or six years, Tractor Supply has offered delivery from stores across the country. That includes same-day, two- and three-day shipping options, depending on what consumers select.

“So what we’ve been rolling out over the last 1.5 years is our own kind of what we call Final Mile delivery,” Lawton said at the conference. “And in essence, what we’re doing is we’re taking every three to four stores. We’re making — we’re creating a hub-and-spoke system and serving four stores out of one store.”

Delivery from its stores, in particular, is scaling faster than originally planned. The company completed as many last-mile deliveries in the first half of 2026 as it did in all of 2025, Lawton said on the retailer’s Q2 earnings call.

Why Tractor Supply opened a distribution center in Nampa, Idaho

In the retailer’s Sept. 23 announcement, chief supply chain officer Craig Ledbetter said the Idaho distribution center will be “vital” to consumers getting their orders.

“Our distribution centers play a critical role in supporting our team members, stores and customers,” Ledbetter said. “The Nampa facility represents a major investment to help our team work safer and more efficiently, setting a new standard for how products move through our supply chain to deliver the legendary service our customers have come to expect.”

The retailer described its new facility as “large enough to comfortably fit seven Idaho Ford Centers inside.”

Darl Bruner, Nampa’s mayor, said his city becoming home to the Tractor Supply distribution center marks “a major economic milestone.”

The distribution center is also the first in Tractor Supply’s network to implement Order Storage and Retrieval/Automated Storage and Retrieval System (OSR/ASRS) technology. Tractor Supply said it has fully integrated that automated architecture across the facility’s operations. It can automatically convey systems to store, sequence and move products safely and more efficiently, according to the announcement.

The retailer also noted that all of the Nampa facility’s team leaders “are trained in AI fundamentals, and the site leverages a dedicated AI Innovation Team to apply practical artificial intelligence to operational needs.”

Tractor Supply also said its fulfillment center meets LEED Silver standards. LEED certification refers to a standard for leadership in energy and environmental design. The silver tier is one of four, based on how many points a facility scores out of a possible 110. The lowest standard is “Certified,” which means a facility scored 40 to 49 points.

In the Nampa facility’s case, it scores between 50 and 69 points. The points factor in aspects including but not limited to the facility’s energy and water use, the materials it selects, how it manages waste and indoor environmental quality.

Tractor Supply said it began constructing the Nampa distribution center in 2024 and completed it in July 2026. It began receiving inventory in August 2026 and plans to launch outbound shipping in October.
