SupplyHouse has expanded its Ohio fulfillment operations with the opening of a larger distribution center near Columbus.
It aims at increasing inventory capacity and speeding deliveries across the Midwest and Plains. SupplyHouse is an online distributor of plumbing, HVAC and electrical supplies.
The Melville, New York-based company said March 12 it relocated its Ohio operations from Columbus to a 527,000-square-foot facility in Canal Winchester, a suburb southeast of the city. The move more than doubles the size of the previous operation, which totaled about 289,000 square feet.
How SupplyHouse is increasing its Ohio fulfillment center capacity
SupplyHouse said the larger facility will allow it to hold deeper inventory and expand its product assortment. At the same time, it will improve stock availability for contractors, trade professionals and do-it-yourself customers. The center also includes expanded picking, packing and staging areas. The company said it designed them to shorten order-processing times, improve order accuracy and increase same-day shipping capacity.
“This expansion is about making it easier and faster for our customers to get what they need,” said Nando Cunha, chief operating officer. “By increasing our inventory capacity and optimizing our fulfillment operations, we’re strengthening our ability to deliver the right products at the right time.”
The Ohio project is part of a broader effort by SupplyHouse to expand its U.S. fulfillment network as demand for online purchasing of trade supplies continues to grow. The company opened a distribution center in Reno, Nevada, in 2018 and another in Dallas in 2021, and expanded its New Jersey fulfillment center in 2024.
By increasing warehouse capacity closer to major markets, the company said it expects to improve delivery times and product availability for customers across the country.
