Free Shipping Day draws 970 merchants to list on the special site created for the annual event, but plenty of retailers offer free shipping with no minimum on their sites beyond the one-day promotion.

Free shipping attracts shoppers, and online retailers are finding several ways to let consumers know they offer it.

The 10th annual Free Shipping Day, held Friday, drew 970 participants this year, a bit short of the more than 1,000 online merchants projected by operators of FreeShippingDay.com. To be part of the one-day official promotion—where a merchant’s name and logo appear on FreeShippingDay.com—retailers must offer free shipping with delivery before Dec. 25, with no minimum purchase requirement. Some exclusions to this requirement are allowed, such as oversized products. The site also shows consumers the retailers that offer free shipping but have a minimum threshold.

Among the 100 holiday-focused shopping sites selected by Internet Retailer to track, fewer than half participated in Free Shipping Day but more than half offered free shipping on their own sites. Here’s the breakdown for those retailers:
