Amazon Day for Business is a new service that lets buyers choose to receive consolidated shipments on the same day each week. The service is intended to streamline shipment receiving operations and cut back on truck traffic and carbon emissions, Amazon says.

Known for personalizing the online buying experience, Amazon.com Inc. is now adding more personalization into Amazon Business delivery services.

Customer feedback indicates that having one scheduled delivery day per week helps them streamline and simplify their order receiving processes.

Buyers on Amazon Business who subscribe to the Business Prime expedited shipping program now have more options for choosing how and when to receive deliveries, Amazon says. Its new Amazon Day for Business program lets buyers on Amazon Business consolidate shipments and choose to receive deliveries on the same day each week.

“We’re pleased to help reduce packaging by coordinating the delivery of items to business customers with fewer shipments and boxes,” says Moz Thomas, director of Business Prime, Amazon Business. “Customer feedback indicates that having one scheduled delivery day per week helps them streamline and simplify their order receiving processes.”

The new shipping program is also part of Amazon’s “Shipment Zero” initiative to reduce carbon emissions by cutting back on the number of deliveries, Amazon says.

Amazon says Amazon Day for Business is only available to Business Prime members in the United States. It also says it’s only for orders shipped by Amazon itself, whether a product is sold by Amazon Business or by a third-party seller on the Amazon Business marketplace.

Amazon offers Business Prime in multiple subscription plans, starting at $179 per year for up to three users. Other annual subscription fees run $449 for up to 10 users; $1,299 for up to 100; and $10,099 for more than 100.

Amazon launched Business Prime in October 2017 with two-day shipping at no extra charge above its annual subscription fees. Last fall, it added such features as one-day and same-day shipping and spend management and pay-by-invoice tools.
