The third annual B2B Workshop at the IRCE next month will present 10 sessions featuring the e-commerce strategies of various types and sizes of companies.

The B2B Workshop scheduled for June 6 in this year’s Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition and will provide insights into how large as well as small and mid-size companies are making digital commerce a central part of their strategies to interact with customers and grow their businesses.

The Workshop will feature the latest market projections and analysis from Forrester Research’s Andy Hoar, a leading B2B e-commerce analyst who travels the world to share his insights. He’ll share the stage in a dialogue with Jochen Moll, the chief digital officer of international industrial products distributor Sonepar, as they explore what it takes to succeed online in global markets.

The Workshop will also dive into the details of how several companies deploy digital technology and strategies to stand out and succeed against their competition.

MSC Industrial Supply Co., which won the B2B E-Commerce Player of the Year award at last year’s IRCE, will reveal how it has developed and constantly improved on its e-commerce operations for well over a decade. Global electronics supplier Premier Farnell will take the Workshop audience through the steps it has taken to build an effective worldwide e-commerce technology platform. Arrow Electronics will share its strategy of managing the cultural, political and economic challenges of operating a worldwide e-commerce business.

Zoro.com, a fast-growing industrial products site of W.W. Grainger Inc., a major distributor of business and industrial supplies, will cover how it personalizes content for buyers. Hudson Fasteners, a small but growing privately held company, will report on how it has developed search marketing techniques to help it compete with much larger companies. And the Coca-Cola Co. will show how it engages its business customers by letting them order through mobile devices.

Running effective e-commerce merchandising and marketing strategies requires an effective system of managing product data—a topic Julie Schmitt of TOPS Products will bring to life as she shares her data management experience.

Many companies in the B2B e-commerce world like to keep an eye on what’s up at

Amazon Business—and how their own websites compare to it. The Workshop’s final sessions will feature a review by e-commerce expert Craig Smith of what Amazon Business does to stand out online. That will be followed by live reviews of audience members’ sites by Smith and e-commerce expert Lori McDonald.
