Rob Bodor, president and CEO of Proto Labs Inc.—a digitally-driven manufacturing company that processes all customer orders via ecommerce—will keynote “Navigating The B2B Purchase Journey,” a livestream Digital Commerce 360 B2B online event on Nov. 4.

Protolabs describes itself as the world’s fastest digital manufacturing service. The manufacturer has taken a digital manufacturing model it introduced in 1999—a model that has allowed its customers to upload computer-aided design (CAD) models of products online to place manufacturing orders—and relaunched it to put customers in more control of more quickly quoting, ordering, and producing products with better visibility into costs and production time.

Bodor, who took over as CEO of Protolabs in March, will deliver the Nov. 4 keynote address from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. Central Time, during the event track “Doers and Achievers: How Protolabs closes more sales by knowing what makes their digital customers tick and how other B2B organizations can as well.”

Bodor previously held roles at Protolabs as vice president and general manager of the Americas, chief technology officer, and director of business development. Prior to Protolabs, he held leadership roles at Honeywell and McKinsey & Co. and has been on the executive team of two early-stage software companies. Bodor holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in engineering and computer science.

Bodor and Protolabs are uniquely qualified for a high-profile keynote address on digital transformation and the accelerated role digital commerce is playing in U.S. manufacturing and distribution.

For example, Protolabs processes virtually all customer orders through its ecommerce site, Protolabs.com. The company’s new digital quoting engine on an updated ecommerce platform—launched in November 2020 in Europe and rolled out earlier this year in the U.S.—comes at a time when many companies—large and small—are facing pressures to quickly develop new or revised products because of the pandemic and changes in competition.

Bodor heads up a cadre of more than a dozen preeminent B2B ecommerce analysts, executives, and practitioners for Digital Commerce 360’s latest free livestream digital event, which will take place from 10 am to 2 p.m., Central Time, Nov. 4.
