Effective June 3, Nancy King will take on the CTO role at RB Global, an auctioneer and operator of a B2B marketplace selling used construction equipment.

An older and established B2B marketplace has a brand-new chief technology officer. The new CTO for RB Global, Nancy King, comes to the marketplace company from Target Corp.

Effective June 3, King will take on the CTO role at RB Global, an auctioneer and operator of a B2B marketplace selling used construction equipment.

Target is No. 5 in the Top 1000. The database is Digital Commerce 360’s ranking of North America’s online retailers by web sales. Digital Commerce 360 categorizes Target as a mass merchant.

King joins RB Global as CTO

At Target, King worked as senior vice president of product engineering. She joined Target in 2005 and has played a leading role in the retailer’s technology transformation and growth, including leading the technology strategy for Target’s mobile apps, website, marketplace, and capability services.

King served as senior vice president after her appointment in 2001. She served in multiple ecommerce and digital roles at Target including as vice president of digital and vice president of merchandising and marketing technology.

RB Global posted an increase in gross transaction volume to $13.9 billion in 2023. That’s up 131% due to the inclusion of $7.0 billion from IAA.

Westchester, Illinois-based IAA facilitates the marketing and sale of total-loss, damaged, and low-value vehicles. RB Global acquired the company for $7.3 billion.
