With the addition of new ecommerce and supply chain executives, Republic National also continues to add new functions to eRNDC, the distributor’s ecommerce platform.

One of the nation’s biggest alcohol distributors continues to expand B2B digital commerce. And the customers apparently like what’s flowing their way.

In the past year, Republic National Distributing Company, a beverage distributor of premium wine and spirits in the U.S., has taken a number of initiatives to expand ecommerce.

In October, the company named Emily Xu as its senior vice president of ecommerce. She had previously worked as chief marketing officer at Mitchell Gold Bob Williams. Before that role, Xu worked at Crate & Barrel and Sears Corp., overseeing ecommerce, customer experience, strategy, and analytics.

And in May, Republic National also hired Sean Halligan as chief supply chain officer and executive vice president. Before coming to Republic National, Halligan was employed as the chief supply chain officer at Wayfair, and has held senior supply chain and operations leadership roles at Cardinal Health, Nike, and Target Corp.

Republic National ecommerce growth

With the addition of new ecommerce and supply chain executives, Republic National also continues to add new functions to eRNDC, the distributor’s ecommerce platform. In 2022, eRNDC generated 350,000 digital orders. Since rolling out in 2019, Republic National has also handled more than $1.3 billion in ecommerce sales.

“As we look back at the first half of the year, it’s clear that eRNDC will not only meet but exceed expectations for 2023,” says Republic National CEO Nick Mehall. “As this growth continues, our team remains dedicated to prioritizing the user experience — and that starts with listening to and acting on feedback from our customers and sales teams.”

So far this year, Republic National has expanded its ecommerce platform to include California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, and Hawaii.

The company has also added new ecommerce features such as advanced search engines, better product insights and content and faster order processing.

“Our goal for 2023 is to make eRNDC a collaborative e-commerce platform,” Xu says.
