The RyderGyde app, available throughout the United States and Canada, lets fleet operators monitor truck usage, schedule maintenance and manage digital receipts for fuel purchases.

Ryder System Inc. is putting a new spin on the old saying, “There’s an app for that.”

The provider of commercial fleet management and related transportation and supply chain services is providing customers with RyderGyde, a mobile app designed to let Ryder customers remotely check critical data on each vehicle in their fleet. The app provides access to current odometer readings, alerts regarding required maintenance, and a scheduling tool for setting up and tracking appointments at more than 800 service locations across North America.

Ryder made the app available this month to fleet operators in Canada, following its U.S. launch last fall. In the U.S. alone, the app has thousands of users among more than 36,000 Ryder fleet customers, Ryder says.

Drivers and fleet managers use RyderGyde to scan receipts for motor fuel purchases to view and manage them in digital form. They can also use the app to maintain fuel tax records for tax reporting purposes. In addition, the app can show contracted fuel prices offered through Ryder, compare them to prices offered by other fuel suppliers and choose the best option for purchasing fuel, according to Dennis Cooke, president of Fleet Management Solutions at Ryder.
