James Gooch takes on the dual roles of chief operating officer and chief financial officer, replacing Michael Rosera.

Lands’ End has hired the former president and CEO of RadioShack Corp. to fill the dual roles of chief operating officer and chief financial officer.

The retailer, No. 38 in the Internet Retailer 2015 Top 500 Guide, said Thursday that James Gooch joined the company Wednesday and will take over those executive roles as of Saturday, replacing Michael Rosera, who is leaving Lands’ End. Gooch reports directly to CEO Federica Marchionni, who took Lands’ End’s top spot in mid-February 2015.

Gooch brings “operational expertise in the areas of information technology, logistics, supply chain, and retail operations, in addition to his financial disciplines,” Marchionni says. “I look forward to leveraging his knowledge and breadth of experience as we execute our strategic growth plans for Lands’ End. We want to thank Mike for his numerous contributions to Lands’ End over the years and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Gooch most recently served as co-CEO at Demoulas Supermarkets until December 2014. Prior to that, he was an independent consultant to apparel and retail companies on operational and financial management. He also had been president and CEO and chief financial officer of RadioShack Corp. from 2006-12.
