Clothing retailer Lands’ End announced in December 2016 that it hired a new permanent CEO, Jerome Griffith, after Federica Marchionni stepped down. Griffith was set to officially take the reins in March 2017. Griffith spent the past seven-plus years as CEO at upscale luggage manufacturer Tumi Inc. before leaving in August 2016 after luggage manufacturer Samsonite bought the company for $1.8 billion. Griffith takes over from interim CEOs Joseph Boitano and James Gooch, who were serving in the role since September 2016, when Marchionni resigned from the top job after less than two years. Once Griffith takes over, Boitano will return to his position as chief merchandising and design officer.
