Alex Alexander is the Italian e-retailer’s latest executive hire.

Yoox S.p.A. continues to fill out its executive boardroom as it gears up to complete its purchase of luxury e-retailer Net-a-Porter from Cie. Financiere Richemont SA. Milan-based Yoox has hired Alex Alexander as chief information officer. His hire follows that of Enrico Cavatorta in April as chief financial and corporate officer.

Alexander spent the last three years working for Walmart Global eCommerce through @WalmartLabs, the retail giant’s e-commerce development team, where he was multichannel technology director at Wal-Mart’s U.K. subsidiary Asda, No. 9 in Internet Retailer’s 2015 Europe 500. Alexander is credited with helping develop and roll out Asda’s cross-channel programs, including in-store pickup for groceries ordered online, Yoox says. Yoox is No. 72 in the Europe 500 and No. 211 in the Internet Retailer 2015 Top 500 Guide.

Yoox agreed in March to buy Cie. Financiere Richemont SA’s Net-a-Porter in an all-stock transaction that will create the world’s biggest online luxury-goods retailer. The companies say that transaction is expected to close in September, pending shareholder and regulatory approval. Richemont SA is No. 31 in the Europe 500.

For the year ended Dec. 31, Yoox reported sales of 524.3 million euros ($601.9 million), an increase of 15.1% from 455.6 million euros ($523.08 million) in 2013. That figure includes sales from online retail sites Yoox.com, TheCorner.com and Shoescribe.com, as well as the company’s e-commerce services business.
