After rolling out city-wide in San Francisco, Google Shopping Express is tackling L.A.

Google Inc.’s same-day delivery service, Google Shopping Express, is now available to Google employees in Santa Monica, CA.

Google launched Shopping Express last March in San Francisco in a limited test and then rolled it out more broadly in September to consumers located in a delivery range running from San Francisco to San Jose.

Shopping Express lets consumers make online purchases from participating retailers and have their deliveries in hand within hours.

“We’ve gotten great feedback about Google Shopping Express from shoppers and retailers in the Bay Area, and have begun testing the service with Google employees in Santa Monica,” a Google spokeswoman says.

More than a dozen retailers participate in Shopping Express in the San Francisco Bay area,  including Costco.com, No. 16 in the Top 500 Guide; Toys “R” Us, No. 30; Target, No. 18; Walgreens, No. 36; and REI, No. 67. Google has not disclosed the names of the retailers participating in the Los Angeles test.
