The retail chain now has three distribution centers in that country.

Toys ‘R’ Us in Canada has added a third distribution center to support online and store sales in that country.

The toy retailer, working with fulfillment services vendor SCI Logistics, opened a 180,000-square-foot facility in Delta, B.C., in late summer, the companies said today. Delta is about 15 miles south of Vancouver. “The new west coast distribution center provides us with the additional capacity and flexibility to service our customers and distribution needs in western Canada,” says Krista Collinson, vice president of logistics, e-commerce and business development for Toys ‘R’ Us, Canada.

The facility includes an automated sorting system that will let Toys ‘R’ Us adjust to support fluctuating demands, such as during the holiday shopping season. SCI Logistics staffs the warehouse.

Toys ‘R’ Us, Canada sells online to Canadian consumers via toysrus.ca. It also operates 74 stores. Toys ‘R’ Us Inc. is No. 29 in Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide.
