  • The top 300 online retailers in Asia sold $340.04 billion worth of goods in 2021, up 15.1% from $295.45 billion in 2020 
  • Chinese mass merchant JD.com Inc., the largest traditional online retailer in Asia by far, grew its market share among the top 300 cohort in 2021. Last year, it accounted for more than a third—37.7%—of the collective Asia 300 online sales, up from 34.7% in 2020. 
  • Australian home goods retailer Temple & Webster was the fastest-growing online retailer in Asia. The web-only retailer increased its ecommerce sales by more than 85% in 2021 as orders from repeat customers grew significantly during the pandemic and overtook sales from first-time customers for the first time. 
  • Chinese second-hand luxury apparel retailer Secoo Holding Ltd. had a rough year, with a more than 48% decline in its online merchandise sales in 2021 and a delisting warning from Nasdaq when its closing bid price dropped below the minimum for 30 consecutive days late in the year. 
  • The median web sales growth for retailers ranked in the Asia 300 was 12.9% in 2021
