Online-only retailer Renegade Furniture Group has been a loyal and overall happy Magento customer since the retailer launched online in 2008, says Shmaya Krinsky, chief technical officer for the retailer.

Krinsky says his company in part chose Magento because the Community Edition (now called Magento Open Source) was free to access and use. But, despite liking many aspects of Magento, he notes that Magento never was really free.

When Renegade initially built out its Magento site it had contractors build it. It now has an in-house staff of nine developers whose full-time jobs are to maintain and improve the site—six of those developers specialize in the Magento platform. “It was easy to find resources as it has a big community,” Krinsky says.
