Leading online luggage and travel goods retailer eBags continues its ambitious growth by welcoming a new vice president to its senior leadership team.

DENVER, Sept. 2, 2016 — Leading online luggage and travel goods retailer eBags continues its ambitious growth by welcoming a new vice president to its senior leadership team. Lori Plucker, who joined the company as Senior Director of Human Resources a year ago, was promoted to Vice President of Human Resources by Mike Edwards, CEO of eBags. This decision was motivated by her vast policy changes and upgrades, which have ultimately made eBags a better place to work and prosper.

Plucker has been instrumental in the hiring of 35 new eBags employees and responsible for implementing dozens of policy changes large and small. Edwards commented, “There’s only one Lori, and every single person here needs something from her. If she wasn’t as driven as she is, we would not have prospered over the past year and created an even more desirable place for all of us to work.”

Plucker’s first year will be remembered for many changes, including, but not limited to, the following enhancements and projects that have already launched or will launch in early 2017.

Companywide Bonus Structure + Stock Options

eBags is a company of owners and stands by their word. Under Lori’s guidance, the company rolled out a companywide bonus structure that rewards all associate employees with a bonus based on the company’s overall performance, measured by the ability of the company to hit certain EBIDTA targets throughout the year. eBags also offers a generous stock option grants package to all full-time employees.

Get Paid to Travel

Plucker spearheaded a new addition to the benefits package that will reward employees with cash for traveling and then sharing their journeys on social media. The eBags brand stands by its mission of being the place where your journey begins, and under Plucker’s leadership, will now be offering incentives for its employees to travel.

More Vacation Time

Tasked with fostering stronger culture during a season of change, Plucker was instrumental in the launch of enhanced PTO policies—including an additional 48 hours of annual vacation (for a total of four weeks per year) for all full-time employees.

 eBags Office Facelift

Under Plucker’s direction, eBags headquarters, located in Denver, Colorado, will be undergoing a facelift to provide more collaborative workspace for its 120+ employees, including more breakout spaces, conference rooms, collaboration area/kitchen, video studio and more. Says Plucker, “This space will allow eBags to foster more innovation and creativity with light, airy workspaces and a fresh, new look that is centered on our brand’s core position in the travel e-commerce space.”

Plucker’s peers are pleased with her performance over the last year and look forward to the fruits of her labors in 2017.

“When Lori joined us in 2015, we were impressed by her can-do attitude and 15 years of HR experience,” says eBags Co-Founder and EVP, Peter Cobb. “But the leadership she has shown over the past 10 months has surpassed our wildest expectations.” Added Edwards, “Lori has been a critical factor in our growth over the past year. We look forward to continued success with her in an expanded VP role, and count ourselves lucky to have found her.”
