The customizable products e-retailer is putting a greater focus on corporate clients.

CafePress Inc., which operates several e-commerce web sites that allow consumers to customize such items as T-shirts and mugs, announced today it has appointed Garett Jackson as its first chief information officer. He will lead the I.T., data warehouse and analytics divisions of the company at a time when CafePress is expanding into offering customized products to businesses, CEO Bob Marino says.

“The goals will be to build and maintain all the systems necessary to continue to grow our business beyond the borders of CafePress,” Marino says. “This is of particular importance considering our recent acquisition of EZ Prints and the establishment of CafePress Services, our division dedicated to expanding and servicing corporate partners. Given the rate of growth of our corporate shops division, we see the role of CIO as essential to continuing that advancement in a clean and efficient manner.”

Jackson joins CafePress from health care business office service provider National Patient Account Services Inc., now a part of Parallon Business Solutions, where he was chief financial officer, CafePress says. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2003, he was a controller and later chief financial officer at the Hospital Corporation of America, and from 1995 to 2000 he was a supervisor at audit, tax and I.T. consulting firm Mountjoy & Bressler LLP, according to his LinkedIn profile.

CafePress’ expansion plans require the company to develop new internal systems to facilitate transactions, Marino says. “We believe Garret Jackson’s wealth of experience in billing management for health care systems will make for a seamless transition to CafePress and he will be considered an immediate asset,” he says.
