E-retailer The Tie Bar, which sells neckties, socks and men’s fashion accessories, has hired Anand Shah as its CEO. Shah was chief operating officer at online T-shirt seller Threadless.com. He replaces The Tie Bar’s founder and CEO Greg Shugar, who now serves as chairman and creative director of the company, the retailer says.

Prior to joining Threadless in 2011, Shah in 2000 co-founded urban fashion e-retailer Karmaloop Inc., according to his LinkedIn profile. While there, he held the positions of chief operating officer and chief technology officer.

“Anand Shah will be a great asset to The Tie Bar,” Shugar says. “His knowledge and understanding of the ever-evolving fashion and e-commerce industries will ensure continued success well into the future.”

Before working in e-commerce, Shah was a managing partner at vocational rehabilitation services company Strategic Consulting Services Inc. and a management consultant at online marketing and technology company Breakaway Solutions, LinkedIn says.

Threadless is No. 356 in the 2013 Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide; Karmaloop is No. 118.
