A deal with Go Daddy provides domain name registration and web site hosting.

As part of a push to offer products and services beyond office supplies, OfficeMax is now working with Go Daddy to provide web hosting and domain name registration inside its stores, the merchant announced this week.

OfficeMax, No. 12 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, says it is now the exclusive nationwide retailer of Go Daddy services. In-store shoppers can purchase year-long bundle packages from Go Daddy ranging from domain name registration to the hosting of online stores.

“The introduction of Go Daddy websites and domain names in our stores is the first of many steps we’re taking to provide entrepreneurs with industry-leading solutions for starting, running and growing their business,” says Michael Lewis, executive vice president and president of retail at OfficeMax. “Having a digital presence is instrumental to business success, as it’s increasingly where consumers and businesses go to research and shop. Together with Go Daddy, we’re offering a complete array of products and services to help small businesses boost their online visibility, reach customers and drive sales in the digital space.”

Go Daddy hosts web sites for 11 million customers, including two merchants in the Top 500 Guide (The Original Honey Baked Ham Co. of Georgia Inc., No. 479 and HamGo Corp., No. 486) and 22 in the Second 500 Guide. It also provides web site security certification to 10 retailers in the Top 500 and 28 in the Second 500.

The company says an in-store presence will help it reach more small businesses. “Partnering with OfficeMax means we can help more people leverage the power of the Internet—people who may not realize how easy it can be,” says Go Daddy vice president of marketing, Teri Dhooge.
