Facebook Check-in and Open Graph join the Google +1 button on its e-commerce platform.

Demandware Inc., a provider of Internet-hosted e-commerce technology, has introduced software plug-ins that help retailers engage their customers through the social networks of Facebook Inc. and Google Inc.

The plug-ins were designed for the following social network features:

Facebook Open Graph, the social network’s technology for collecting and sharing information on a Facebook user’s interests. Demandware’s Open Graph plug-in lets a retailer place Facebook “Like,” “Want” and “Purchased” buttons on their product pages. When a consumer clicks one of those buttons, that information can appear on her Facebook news feed, Timeline, App Views and Ticker.

Facebook Check-In, the social network’s feature for letting consumers check in to a retailer’s loyalty program or special offers based on where a customer is physically located. The
Demandware plug-in is designed for both e-commerce  and mobile sites and comes with features like store locators and social shopping for sharing information with friends.

Google +1 button, which lets consumers click from a retailer’s web page to share information on products and other interests with friends on Google’s social network. The Demandware plug-in enables retailers to place the Google +1 button throughout their sites. As shoppers click the button on product pages, their actions, including any comments they write about products, show up in their Google+ social network pages as well as in the Google Search results of Google + users.
