Willem Vos will oversee the office supplies retailer’s online growth in Europe.

Staples Inc. has hired Willem Vos as director of e-commerce for Staples Europe. Vos is charged with leading the implementation of Staples’ long-term European e-commerce growth strategy, Staples says.

“Willem brings strong e-commerce skills and a broad experience to Staples,” says Peter Howard, senior vice president and head of Staples online and marketing for Staples Europe. “Willem is a great addition to our team as we become a trusted source for office solutions to our customers.”

Vos will report to Howard.

Vos comes to Staples from interactive marketing agency Sapient Corp., where he was managing director.
