Drugstore retailer Walgreen Co. has promoted two managers to key e-commerce positions.

The company promoted director of online operations Miguel Almeida to divisional vice president of online merchandising and 21-year company veteran Jasbir Patel to director and general merchandise manager of online photo. Both Patel and Almeida will report to senior vice president of e-commerce Sona Chawla.

The company also promoted Mike Arnoult, formerly head of online merchandising, to vice president of customer-centric retailing. Customer centric retailing is a strategy Walgreens has been rolling out to its 7,147 retail stores to better coordinate merchandising and buying activities in an effort to reduce inventories and improve sales.
