Bernstein was president of Smith+Noble, a catalog and online retailer of window treatments. Home Dcor president says hiring frees him up to focus on strategies that will lead to doubling our revenues. 2006 online revenue was about $107 million.

Home Dcor Products Inc., a fast-growing web-only retailer of home products and appliances, has hired Jonathan Bernstein as CEO. Bernstein, 52, most recently was president of Smith+Noble, a catalog and online retailer of window treatments.

It has always been my intention to hand over the controls of the company to someone whose skills complement my own, says Michael Golden, 37, Home Dcor’s president, who had also served as CEO. This lets me focus on the broader strategic initiatives that will lead to doubling our revenues.

Home Dcor, No. 109 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, reported online revenue of nearly $107 million in 2006, up 35% from $79 million the previous year.

What Michael and his team have created over the past several years is a strong foundation which we hope to build into the No. 1 web retailer in the home improvement space, Bernstein says.
