NetShops Inc. has acquired Thralow Inc. and its 30 specialty retail web sites, the companies announced today. The purchase includes Binoculars.com, Pans.com and Telescopes.com. Terms of the deal were not released.

Thralow’s family of stores is perfectly suited to NetShops’ commitment to operating tightly focused stores that offer specialty products at prices within almost any budget, says NetShops co-founder and CEO Douglas Nielsen. Because every NetShops store focuses on one product category, the company is able to offer products that customers won`t find anywhere else.

NetShops, No. 120 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, owns and operates 120 Internet specialty stores, including Hammocks.com, DayBeds.com and Dartboards.com. It has annual sales of $100 million.

Thralow, No. 265 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites, has annual sales of $26 million.

The Thralow team will continue to operate the company from its Proctor, MN, base, Jonathan Thralow, vice president of marketing, tells InternetRetailer.com.
