To help it better manage its workforce, recently expanded to 30,000 employees, hunting and camping retailer Cabela’s Inc. has deployed the latest version of the Kronos iSeries Central suite from Kronos Inc., Cabela’s said today.

“The challenge of managing an ever-growing base of employees increases as we open each new retail store,” said Dennis Highby, president and CEO of Cabela`s. “Having an always-available workforce management solution is essential, and the iSeries suite from Kronos is the ideal platform to keep up with our needs.”

Based on IBM Corp.’s web-based iSeries platform, the Kronos iSeries Central Suite provides web browser access by employees and managers to time-and-attendance, scheduling and human resources forms and reports. The system supports the deployment of a consistent attendance policy to all employees, eliminating any favoritism and making it possible for Cabela’s to monitor and provide rewards for perfect attendance records, Kronos said.

The system also lets Cabela’s analyze historical workforce data to identify labor trends, gather employee-specific data for performance reviews and address employee questions regarding human resources policies. Cabela’s is No. 47 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to Retail Web Sites.
