Amazon Mexico has almost 18 thousand national sellers, 99% of which are small and medium-sized companies with more than 3 million products listed.

Amazon Business is now open for business in Mexico. Marking its latest international expansion, the B2B-focused face of Amazon announced the launch with related features and plans on March 13.

As a result, Mexico becomes the tenth country in which Amazon Business is available, joining Germany, Canada, Spain, the United States, France, India, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom.

Amazon’s Mexico plans for its business customers

“We are excited to support Mexican business customers in simplifying their business buying processes so they can focus on what’s most important to them,” said Pedro Huerta, country manager for Amazon Mexico, in a released statement. “We are also committed to the growth of small businesses by enabling third-party sellers — through our business-to-business store — to expand and grow by selling directly to companies of all sizes.”

Already, Amazon Mexico has almost 18 thousand national sellers, 99% of which are small and medium-sized companies with more than 3 million products listed and generate more than 57 thousand direct and indirect jobs, Huerta stated.

Amazon is No. 3 in the Global Online Marketplaces Database, Digital Commerce 360’s ranking of the top 100 online marketplaces. Amazon also ranks No. 1 in the Top 1000. The database is Digital Commerce 360’s ranking of North America’s online retailers by web sales.

Amazon Business features that will be available in Mexico

Amazon Business customers in Mexico also have access to features and benefits tailored to the business, including a B2B website experience, Business Prime, business-only pricing and selection, single and multi-user corporate accounts, approval processes, shopping, payment solutions, tax exemptions, and specialized customer service.

In 2023, Amazon Business reported that it had reached “roughly $35 million” in annualized gross sales.

In the U.S., a 2023 Digital Commerce 360 Digital B2B Buyer Survey noted that 60% of buyers do more than a quarter of their purchasing on Amazon Business, and 28% say they do more than half.
