The new mobile site includes a Build-A-Tux feature and exclusive deals.

The Men’s Wearhouse Inc. has launched a mobile commerce web site for its shoppers on smartphones. The chain retailer declines to disclose the exact percentage of traffic that stems from smartphones but says it’s a large and growing portion.

The new site allows Men’s Wearhouse shoppers to browse the merchant’s complete selection of products and locate the nearest store. They can also design a tuxedo for any occasion with the Build-A-Tux feature, which enables shoppers to choose from 96 different vest and bowtie colors and customize their tux with the aid of pre-styled looks that can be shared with friends and family via e-mail and social media.

“The smartphone shopper is extremely important to the future of Men’s Wearhouse,” says Kelly Helthall, director of e-commerce. “As more of our customers rely on smartphones to gather information about our stores and our products, it is necessary we make this information accessible anytime and anywhere. Our goal at Men’s Wearhouse is to provide world-class customer service to our customers across all of the channels they choose to shop.”

The m-commerce site of Men’s Wearhouse, No. 289 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, was built with mobile commerce technology provider Moovweb. Men’s Wearhouse declines to reveal the cost to build the site. Moovweb says for larger retailers platform fees start at $2,000 per month and increase from there based on mobile traffic.

In addition to the Build-A-Tux feature, the mobile site also includes: filtering options to help customers search for products based on features relevant to them; a view toggle allowing users to switch between grid view and list view, minimizing scrolling; a toggle between Regular and Big & Tall sizes for easy navigation; a GPS store finder, allowing users to find retail locations, tuxedo rental stores and outlets; and exclusive deals and offers for mobile shoppers.
