John Squire, formerly of IBM Coremetrics, will lead ECommera’s U.S. expansion.

ECommera Inc., an e-commerce platform and analytics provider, has hired John Squire as president of its U.S. division. Squire also will lead global operations of the company’s Retail Predictive Analytics Software division.

Squire joins the London-based eCommera from his role as chief strategy officer of IBM Corp.’s Smarter Commerce division, which he joined when IBM acquired Coremetrics in 2010. Squire worked for Coremetrics in a variety of roles since 2001. Squire works from California.

“John’s track record and established relationships in the industry make him the ideal executive to accelerate our business in the U.S. and to establish a global leadership position for our predictive analytics software,” says Andrew McGregor, CEO of eCommera.

“ECommera has a compelling vision for analytics-driven commerce and a proven ability in helping multichannel retailers, manufacturers and luxury brands to develop and grow their online business profitably,” Squire says.

The company, founded in 2007, aims to expand the use of its retail predictive analytics software service Intelligent Trader in the United States. It counts as clients in Europe such retailers as Asda and House of Fraser Stores Ltd. Asda, a supermarket chain and a division of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., is No. 17 in Internet Retailer’s Top 400 Europe. House of Fraser, a department store chain, is No. 100.
