Ambi Robotics and Pickle Robot said they have integrated their respective robotic systems to fully automate package moving, using artificial intelligence (AI) to power the process.
The companies announced that their integration came in response to demand from Fortune 500 retail and logistics operators. In addition, they said the result fully automates how they move packages from the trailer-unloading process through pallet stacking and warehouse-receiving operations.
Ambi Robotics provides AI-powered robotics for commercial operations. Pickle Robot Company uses AI for supply chain applications and automated truck unloading. Pickle robots generate terabytes of real-world data, according to the company. It then uses that data to improve system performance using AI and machine learning.
Jim Liefer, CEO of Ambi Robotics, said in a statement that warehouse operators shouldn’t have to choose between top-tier technologies or smooth integration.
“As Physical AI transforms supply chains, interoperability will become increasingly important,” Liefer said. “We believe the future of warehouse automation will be built on collaboration across the industry, where specialized systems work together to solve complex operational challenges. This deployment demonstrates that the next generation of automation will be built on interoperable Physical AI systems that combine the strengths of specialized technologies to create greater value for customers.”
How Ambi Robotics and Pickle Robot are working together on AI-powered automation
The companies said their deployment “combines Pickle Robot’s trailer-unloading robots with Ambi Robotics’ AmbiStack multi-purpose stacking solution.”
In a video, they described their work together as “two integrated Physical AI systems for unloading and palletizing.”
That enables them to continuously and autonomously keep packages flowing from inbound trailers. They said the Pickle Robot systems unload cases from trailers. Then, a conveyor moves freight to the AmbiStack system. After that, the AmbiStack can identify, scan and stack them for further warehouse operations.
The video called this “fully autonomous processing from the dock door to the pallet.”
Ambi Robotics and Pickle Robot said their shared solution uses existing warehouse infrastructure and systems. That allows their customers to fully automate inbound processes. The companies said this process does not require “major facility redesigns.”
Additionally, they said their collaboration “demonstrates how warehouse operators can deploy specialized automation technologies from multiple providers to address labor-intensive workflows.”
“Customers want automation that improves real-world throughput while fitting into existing operations,” said AJ Meyer, founder and CEO of Pickle Robot, in a statement. “This collaboration shows how robotic unloading can integrate seamlessly with downstream automation systems to help move goods more efficiently through the warehouse, and it sets the stage for orchestrating multi-robot processes that can self-improve and self-correct over time.”
