Cindy Stoddard will report directly to CEO Lip-Bu Tan and lead Intel’s global IT organization, which is central to the company’s efforts to modernize legacy systems, improve data integration, and strengthen the technology backbone supporting Intel’s semiconductor, software, and AI initiatives.

Intel Corp. has appointed Cindy Stoddard as senior vice president and chief information officer (CIO), effective Dec. 1.

The appointment marks a key leadership move as the company advances its multi-year digital and operational transformation.

Stoddard will report directly to CEO Lip-Bu Tan and lead Intel’s global IT organization. That organization is central to the company’s efforts to modernize legacy systems, improve data integration and strengthen the technology backbone supporting Intel’s semiconductor, software and AI initiatives.

“The CIO role has become increasingly strategic for Intel as we modernize our legacy systems, strengthen our operational backbone and build deeper partnerships with AI platform companies,” Tan said in a statement. He called Stoddard “a proven enterprise technology leader whose expertise in large-scale digital transformation will be instrumental as we build Intel’s foundation for long-term success.”

About Intel’s new CIO

Stoddard joins Intel after nine years at Adobe, where she led global IT and cloud operations. She oversaw Adobe’s cloud migration and enterprise data programs. She also played a significant role in the company’s transformation into a cloud-first software platform. Her appointment signals Intel’s widening focus on cloud modernization, enterprise systems and internal AI adoption.

She previously held senior technology leadership roles at NetApp, Safeway, American President Lines, and Consolidated Freightways. In those roles, she gained experience in logistics, infrastructure modernization, and operational transformation.

In her new role, Stoddard will oversee Intel’s internal digital transformation work. That includes enterprise system modernization, secure and integrated data architectures, and the build-out of AI-enabled IT operations designed to speed decision-making across business units.

“Intel’s commitment to engineering excellence and innovation creates tremendous opportunities to leverage technology in transformative ways,” Stoddard said. “I’m excited to join the team and help build the digital infrastructure that will support Intel’s next chapter of growth.”

The appointment underscores Intel’s ongoing push to streamline operations and accelerate its turnaround under Tan, with internal IT modernization positioned as a core enabler of the company’s semiconductor and AI strategy.
