Coupa Software Inc. said Oct. 9 it has agreed to acquire Scoutbee, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered supplier discovery platform.

The companies said the combination will make supplier discovery and onboarding faster and more transparent for businesses navigating shifting trade conditions and supply chain pressures.

“Coupa and Scoutbee share a fundamental belief that better data leads to better AI, better decisions, and ultimately, a better world through more resilient supply chains,” said Salvatore Lombardo, Coupa’s chief product and technology officer. “Together, we are creating the world’s most comprehensive and data-rich network for supplier matching and collaboration.”

Founded in Germany, Scoutbee uses AI to help companies identify and qualify suppliers that meet specific technical, geographic and compliance criteria. It designed its platform to reduce manual sourcing work while helping suppliers expand their reach and accelerate contract approvals.

“We founded Scoutbee with the premise that AI can transform sourcing and procurement by enabling buyers and suppliers to seamlessly connect, collaborate, and transact,” said Gregor Stühler, Scoutbee’s co-founder and chief executive officer. “Joining Coupa allows us to bring that vision to a global scale.”

Coupa provides spend management software. It said it expects the transaction to close within its current fiscal quarter. The companies did not disclose financial terms. Freshfields served as legal counsel to Coupa.

The acquisition of Scoutbee follows Coupa’s continued push to build AI-native tools across procurement, sourcing, and supplier management, supported by its $8 trillion community dataset. Integration efforts between the two companies are expected to begin once the deal closes.
