PartsPredictor helps service companies find and identify the right parts faster by accurately predicting the most frequently used parts for specific equipment issues, Parts Town says.

A Chicago distributor of food service equipment and replacement parts thinks artificial intelligence is a natural ingredient in speeding up the hunt for needed spare parts. Parts Town, which was on track to top $2 billion in sales in 2023, has rolled out PartsPredictor, a digital AI tool that uses data from millions of successful technician repairs to identify the right original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts for needed repairs.

Parts Town unveils PartsPredictor AI tool

PartsPredictor helps service companies find and identify the right parts faster by accurately predicting the most frequently used parts for specific equipment issues, Parts Town says.

“PartPredictor’s recommendations provided are based on millions of actual service calls where technicians have successfully resolved similar issues on identical equipment,” the company says.

To use PartsPredictor, repair technicians enter the manufacturer of the equipment, the model number, and the reported issue. They then receive a list of the most frequently used parts to address their equipment issue. Each part is accompanied by a “Fix Rate” indicating the percentage of successful repairs using that part.

“By seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technology with first-hand data insights from technicians in the field, PartPredictor empowers service companies to identify the right OEM part with unprecedented efficiency,” says Emanuela Delgado, senior vice president of the Revolution, Parts Town’s Red Lightning Group.

Parts Town is headquartered in Addison, Illinois, a Chicago suburb.

Parts Town is a privately held company and does not regularly report revenue figures. But its parent company, Parts Town Unlimited, said in May that it expected to reach $2.4 billion in 2023. That would be up from $1.8 billion in 2022.

Parts Town says it also drives growth by expanding into new products categories, including heating, ventilation and air-conditioning parts. The company distributes parts from more than 1,100 original equipment manufacturers.
