[Nov 7, 2017, Shenzhen, China] Sam’s Club, Walmart’s high-end membership-only club, and’s JD Logistics have teamed up to offer online-to-offline (O2O) delivery of fresh produce and frozen products to consumers in China. The new service, which premiered in Beijing in August and Shanghai in September, provides same-day delivery of more than 300 fresh and frozen items, including imported meats, seafood, ice cream and fruits, and local delicacies like fresh Qingyuan chicken and luxury bakery goods.

The new O2O offline fulfillment service relies on sophisticated deep frozen, frozen, chilled and cold-chain delivery and monitoring solutions. JD Logistics collects orders from physical Sam’s Clubs stores and uses US FDA-approved fourth-generation cool storage boxes to ensure that every fresh item is delivered at the right temperature and in perfect condition. The temperature of these boxes is monitored in real time, 24 hours a day, during storage, transportation and delivery.

For the past year, consumers in China have been able to order imported and local items, including fresh and frozen foods, from the flagship Sam’s Club on The store initially offered 10 product categories, but now carries a full range of more than 2,000 imported and local items, including the popular Members Mark private label products. Members in China can also access Sam’s Club on JD Worldwide to select from a wide variety of merchandise from Sam’s Club U.S., comprising mostly of renowned global brands and popular overseas items not yet available in Sam’s Clubs in China. Shoppers enjoy top-quality authentic products, a convenient shopping experience and fast delivery via JD Logistics without ever having to leave home.

With 19 physical Clubs in 16 cities in China and the and JD Worldwide stores, Sam’s serves over 1.8 million members China-wide. More than 20% of Sam’s orders on now include fresh or frozen items, with Australian beef, Members Mark ice cream and imported seafood among the top sellers.

The new fresh food service adds value to the existing logistics services offered by JD Logistics for Sam’s members. Walmart’s partnership with China’s leading online retailer has allowed Sam’s Club to expand its reach to the majority of the nation via JD Logistics’ sophisticated delivery and warehouse infrastructure.

This is the first time that JD Logistics has provided such a high-level service to a partner.
