Businesses can upload or create documents online and pick up the printed product the same day.

The UPS Store Inc. has added online printing to its slate of services for businesses. Businesses can place orders for business cards, fliers and similar paper-and-ink collateral online at UPSStorePrint.com and pick up most orders the same day at a nearby UPS Store location, the company says.

The software that business customers use on UPSStorePrint.com to upload or create documents for print is from PrintSites, a web-based print service. However, the PrintSites software is branded as The UPS Store Online Printing on the site. Consumers who want help with their online order can use live chat to connect with a customer service representative. Consumers can also place a print order from within the store.

“For us, online printing is a national service with local connections,” says Dan Sanchez, director of print services, The UPS Store.

Beyond picking up their online print orders, business owners can also pick up other items ordered online at an increasing number of UPS Store locations. The United Parcel Service of North America Inc. said late last year that it plans to expand its Access Point network this year to include all of its 4,400 UPS Store locations nationwide. (UPS began testing the program in New York and Chicago last year.) Under the Access Point program, UPS redirect a package to a nearby participating store if no one is available to accept a delivery.
