But losers outpaced winners as the Online Retail Index fell last week.

LivePerson Inc., the online chat services provider, led e-commerce stocks tracked in the Internet Retailer Online Retail index last week with a 7.9% gain over the previous week.

Meanwhile, on the other end,Overstock.com Inc.’s stock fared poorly with a 12.6% decrease in value following the release of its 2011 results in which its sales decreased 3.3%, to $1.054 billion from $1.090 billion in 2010. Overstock is No. 27 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide.

Overall, the Online Retail Index had a 1.9% decrease last week over the week prior. Eleven of the 25 e-commerce stocks tracked in the index increased in value last week compared with the previous week; 13 decreased, and one, eBay Inc., was unchanged. The broader market also registered mixed results for the week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.43% and the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index increased 0.09%.

The Online Retail Index tracks 25 publicly traded e-retailers and e-commerce technology providers.
