The world’s largest luxury hotel collection unveils best in class mobile website using the Mobify platform

(Vancouver, Canada) October 10th, 2013 – This week, The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) launched a mobile-optimized website, designed to improve user-experience for customers that browse and book hotel accommodations from multi-screen devices. The website, powered by the leading mobile web platform, Mobify, includes features designed to drive engagement and conversions through mobile-enhanced functionalities and fast load times.

The Leading Hotels of the World’s mobile website was designed to make it easy for customers to make reservations from smartphones. Mobile upgrades include streamlining the booking flow, optimizing check-in/out calendars and reducing unnecessary fields across booking forms. In order to ensure a consistent brand experience for any device, all branding and assets that are present on the desktop website – such as property and room pictures – are included and optimized for mobile.

One of the more innovative mobile enhancements uses Mobify’s Image Resizer – a feature that detects a user’s specific device and serves the appropriate sized images. This approach has been proven to dramatically reduce mobile download times and increase engagement while maintaining image quality.

“Our customers expect a world-class experience whether it be our service, properties or website. Delivering a mobile experience that reflects these standards is imperative to the LHW brand. Mobify created a mobile experience that takes full advantage of our desktop functionalities and capitalizes on how the website can look and feel on smartphones,” says Phil Koserowski, VP of Interactive Marketing at The Leading Hotels of the World.

Mobify is an open platform that adapts any website for mobile devices, helping businesses solve the complex design and performance challenges of today’s multi-screen web. Mobify is built on standard web technologies: HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The features of Mobify’s platform remix the content of the existing site into a customized, adaptive layout – as well as improving the load time and page weight of any responsive website. Mobify is used by leading Fortune 500 companies. Globally, one in five smartphone subscribers have accessed a Mobify-powered website.

“The travel industry is not immune to the tremendous uptake in traffic and conversions from visitors on mobile devices. Studies show that customers who have a positive mobile experience are more likely to convert and return to the website,” says Igor Faletski. “We are thrilled LHW selected Mobify to develop a mobile website that furthers their commitment to giving customers an amazing experience.

From grand palaces to intimate city hideaways, from ancient castles to sumptuous safari tent villages, from tropical aeries to mystical paradises, all are utterly unique and boldly independent. Each celebrates the culture of its destination, rather than trying to mask it with corporate-mandated sameness. Established in 1928 by several influential and forward-thinking European hoteliers, it started with 38 initial members. With our eight-decade-long commitment to providing unforgettable, authentic travel experiences, LHW selects only hotels that meet our high standards for quality and distinctiveness.  To us, hospitality is not an industry; it’s an art…and our passion.
