Kimberly-Clark Corp. has appointed technology executive Francesco Tinto as chief information and global business services officer, expanding its leadership team as the consumer products manufacturer continues to invest in digital operations and shared services.
Tinto assumed the role March 9 and reports to Russ Torres, president and chief operating officer. He will also serve on Kimberly-Clark’s executive leadership team. Kimberly-Clark, based in Dallas, sells consumer products in more than 175 countries and territories. Its portfolio includes brands such as Huggies, Kleenex, Scott, Cottonelle, Kotex, Depend and WypAll.
In the position, Tinto will oversee the company’s information technology organization and its global business services (GBS) unit, which manages shared enterprise functions and operational support across Kimberly-Clark’s global business.
“Francesco brings a rare combination of technology leadership and operational expertise that will strengthen our capabilities as we advance our Powering Care strategy,” said Mike Hsu, chairman and CEO, in a statement. “His record of leading digital transformation and building Global Business Services organizations at Walgreens Boots Alliance and Kraft Heinz will further enhance Kimberly-Clark’s strong momentum.”
About the new Kimberly-Clark executive
Tinto brings more than three decades of experience in enterprise technology and digital transformation. He joins Kimberly-Clark from Advantage Solutions, where he served as chief digital officer and led efforts to simplify and modernize the company’s technology environment.
Previously, Tinto was global chief information officer (CIO) at Walgreens Boots Alliance, where he oversaw technology operations and helped guide the retailer’s digital transformation initiatives. Earlier, he served as CIO at Kraft Heinz, where he managed technology integration following the merger that formed the company and established a global business services organization.
He also held technology leadership roles earlier in his career at Procter & Gamble.
Tinto’s experience spans enterprise systems, data analytics, business intelligence and operational process improvement — areas that consumer goods manufacturers increasingly view as critical to supply chain efficiency and digital commerce capabilities.
“Bringing technology and business services together creates the opportunity to execute faster and deliver even stronger results,” Tinto said.
