Enterprise software provider Infor has expanded its artificial intelligence offerings with new industry-specific AI agents and a cloud migration program.
It designed the new technology to help manufacturers, distributors, and service providers modernize their operations and digital commerce capabilities.
Infor is a subsidiary of Koch Industries. It develops industry cloud software that powers enterprise resource planning (ERP), supply chain management and business-to-business (B2B) ecommerce systems for more than 60,000 organizations worldwide. Its cloud suites support digital ordering, inventory visibility, customer self-service portals and quote-to-cash automation for sectors such as manufacturing, distribution, health care and food production.
The company built its new Infor industry AI agents on Amazon Web Services using Amazon Bedrock for access to large language models (LLMs). It designed the agents to automate workflows tied to core operational areas — from project management and supply chain coordination to pricing and order fulfillment — while reflecting the unique requirements of specific industries and job roles.
How Infor is using AI agents
Infor said the agents are powered by its new Infor Agentic Orchestrator, which connects data and workflows across Infor and non-Infor systems. The orchestration framework uses LangChain to manage multi-step processes and includes governance features for security, auditability, and transparency.
“These new solutions allow customers to harness AI with purpose and precision,” said Kevin Samuelson, Infor’s CEO. “Companies that deploy generic AI tools without industry context risk wasting time and resources.”
Infor also introduced Infor Leap, a fixed-fee cloud migration program aimed at companies still running on-premises enterprise systems. The program includes guaranteed delivery timelines and cost protections, addressing common barriers to ERP modernization such as scope creep and budget overruns.
A recent Forrester study cited by Infor found that 74% of high-performing IT leaders view ERP modernization as essential for agility, innovation and operational resilience. These factors increasingly underpin B2B ecommerce competitiveness.
Infor is also enhancing its process mining software with generative AI. In doing so, it’s allowing companies to automatically generate process summaries, customize dashboards and analyze workflow performance.
Early customers have reported measurable improvements. Randy Yoho, IT Manager at State Electric Supply, said the technology has cut issue-identification time by 86%. That enables faster shipments and payments. Jennifer Terry, Information Systems Manager at Xpress Boats, said Infor’s AI tools are reducing manual workloads. She also said they’re improving access to real-time data across production and order management.
Industry analysts view Infor’s latest move as part of a larger shift toward AI-enabled enterprise software.
“The AI age is ushering in new ERP products that use AI to augment and automate core functions,” said Mickey North Rizza, group vice president at IDC. “Systems are becoming more data-driven, transparent, and responsive.”
