Survey: Consumers share how tariffs have already impacted their online shopping behaviors

In the wake of new tariffs launched in 2025 between the United States and other countries, online retailers have already begun to make changes, and new survey results show how widely felt these adjustments are among consumers.

In the May survey, which Digital Commerce 360 commissioned and research firm Bizrate Insights conducted, consumers clearly showed that they were both aware of tariff-related price changes and altering their online shopping habits as a result.

The survey, which reached 1,024 consumers, surfaced a range of insights, showing not only which types of consumers were most likely to have noticed price increases, but also how their purchasing behaviors had shifted.

Notably, the vast majority of consumers surveyed said they had noticed online price increases that they attributed to tariffs.
