SiteOne Landscape Supply Inc., a major distributor of landscaping products and supplies in the U.S. and Canada, has been showing steady growth in B2B ecommerce this year, despite being light on detailed metrics. The company recently reported that online sales are up by over 170% year-to-date, and digital commerce has become a key corporate priority.
For Q3 ending Sept. 30, SiteOne posted sales of $1.208 billion—a 6% increase from $1.145 billion in Q3 2023. Net income for the quarter was $44.6 million, compared to $57.3 million a year earlier.
CEO Doug Black emphasized to analysts that digital sales growth is driving stronger customer engagement, supporting market share expansion, and enabling associates to focus more on value creation than on transactional tasks. “Growth in digital sales enhances connectivity with our customers, helping us expand market share and allowing our associates to prioritize value over transactions at the branch,” Black said.
The company last redesigned its website in 2018, aiming to improve convenience and streamline ordering for professional landscapers and commercial clients. Customers can check product availability, access pricing, and create custom lists for specific projects or seasonal needs. Each online order is reviewed by a SiteOne associate to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
Looking ahead, SiteOne plans to continue enhancing its digital tools, including implementing a new customer relationship management (CRM) system. “Customers who purchase online are growing their total business with SiteOne significantly faster than our company average,” Black told analysts. “With initiatives like our sales CRM and advanced dispatch tracking for deliveries, we’re moving from a building phase to a harvest phase in our digital strategy.”
