Simpson Manufacturing Co., an engineering firm and building materials manufacturer, has named Udit Mehta its new chief technology officer (CTO). The company produces structural connectors, anchors, and products for new construction and retrofitting.

New Simpson Manufacturing CTO

As CTO, Mehta will primarily be responsible for overseeing Simpson Manufacturing’s technology infrastructure and customer-facing digital offering. He will report to president and CEO Mike Olosky.

Prior to joining Simpson, Mehta spent four years at Carrier Global Corp. as the chief digital and information officer and GM Solutions for the fire and security segment.

During his tenure, he initiated strategies that resulted in an updated digital enterprise as well as a suite of B2B and B2C customer-facing digital offerings.

Prior to Carrier Global, Mehta spent nine years with Siemens Power Services. There, he held various roles of increasing seniority, including most recently as head of digital business for the Americas.

Mehta has a bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting and information systems from Gujarat University. He also earned an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Simpson Manufacturing, headquartered in Pleasanton, California, through its subsidiary, Simpson Strong-Tie, designs, engineers and makes wood construction products. They include:

  • Connectors
  • Truss plates
  • Fastening systems
  • Fasteners and shearwalls

It also makes concrete construction products, including:

  • Adhesives
  • Specialty chemicals
  • Mechanical anchors
  • Powder actuated tools
  • Reinforcing carbon and glass fiber materials
