Since its debut, FBN has raised $894.5 million in funding and today the B2B marketplace has approximately 30,000 farmers in the U.S. and Canada using the marketplace and related services.

Farmers Business Network, or FBN, which one of the oldest B2B marketplaces in agriculture, now has a new CEO.

FBN launched in 2014 as an information and data analysis portal. Its goal to help farmers run their operations more efficiently and profitably.

Since its debut, the company has raised $894.5 million in funding. Today, it has approximately 30,000 farmers in the U.S. and Canada using its marketplace and related services, according to FinancialNews.com

In 2024, the B2B marketplace for farmers has named Diego Casanello as its chief executive officer effective March 1. Casanello replaces interim CEO Devin Lammers, who has served in that role since November.

Casanello previously was CEO of Arysta Life Science Inc., a global provider of crop protection and life science products. He also served as chief operating officer of UPL Ltd., an international agrochemical company, and spent more than twenty years with BASF, where he ran business units on four continents. He was most recently the managing partner and CEO of Vidavo Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in rural prosperity.

Casanello’s appointment comes on the heels of several new FBN initiatives, including its expanded Canadian crop protection product portfolio, growing sustainability programs for farmers and Regenerative Ag Finance program, the marketplace says.
