McMaster-Carr carries an online inventory of 700,000 products and offers 98% of products ordered for delivery same or next day.

A big distribution company is getting – and spending – big money to expand its logistics network in Texas and the southwest.

McMaster-Carr Supply Co. is spending a reported $360 million to build a new regional headquarters and distribution headquarters, near Fort Worth, Texas. McMaster-Carr supplies of hardware, tools, raw materials, industrial materials, and maintenance equipment.

The privately held company is based in Elmhurst, Ill. It generates annual revenue of at least $1.48 billion, according to RocketReach.com. Still, it isn’t saying much about its big regional expansion.

McMaster-Carr expansion

But last night, the Fort Worth city council approved a public works incentive package that details that McMaster-Carr plans to invest about $360 million in the new facility. The McMaster-Carr expansion would create 250 jobs with an average annual salary of $85,000, Fort Worth government officials say.

In return for this investment, the Fort Worth city council approved a public works project valued around $18 million.
