One of the biggest distributors of wine and related spirits has a new digital executive in charge.

Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits LLC has hired Alan Wizemann as the company’s chief digital officer. The distributor racked up $3 billion in digital sales last year on its B2B ecommerce platform

Wizemann will report to Southern Glazer’s chief growth officer, David Chaplin. He will also assume responsibility for the company’s enterprise-wide digital initiatives — including the ecommerce platform.



Most recently, Wizemann was interim chief digital officer at Munchkin Inc., with prior experience as vice president of product, and vice president of guest experience and digital product management at Lululemon Athletica Inc.

“Alan’s expertise will be instrumental in ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional value to our suppliers, customers and teams,” Chaplin says. “I am confident that Alan will help drive the next digital chapter in the Southern Glazer’s story.”

In 2022, more than 82,000 hospitality customers placed orders on, purchasing more than 61,000 products and resulting in more than 17 million cases delivered. In addition, sales consultants generated more than 1 million proposals through the platform, leading to millions of dollars in incremental sales and 70,000 new points of distribution, the distributor says.
