The online wholesale marketplace expects to host more than 2,000 buyers and over 2,500 consumer brand suppliers in early August for commission-free transactions in several categories including food service, housewares, baby and pet products.

RangeMe will focus on independent retailers and their suppliers with commission-free transactions during its “Deal Days” event Aug. 1 to 5, the company says. The company is an online wholesale trading platform that Walmart, Staples and other retail chains use.

Nicky Jackson, CEO, says the event, the first in a series, was designed especially for independent retailers looking to find new suppliers and expand their merchandise assortments. In all, RangeMe expects to host more than 2,000 retail buyers and over 2,500 consumer brand suppliers during the August Deal Days event.

They’ll be from the following categories:

  • Food and beverage
  • Food service
  • Health and beauty
  • Baby
  • Pet
  • Housewares
  • Cleaning product categories

To help promote commerce among buyers and sellers, RangeMe will forego during the August Deal Days event its usual 15% marketplace commission charged to suppliers, a spokesman says.

Sourcing products to differentiate

Joseph Quarto, Amistad owner, says he has found the RangeMe wholesale platform an “efficient way to source and purchase new products” as his company seeks to differentiate with unique product assortments. Amistad is an online retailer that sells apparel, jewelry, accessories and home décor products.

Merchandise suppliers participate in RangeMe transactions by setting up a digital storefront on the RangeMe platform, where they can use the commission-free Deal Days transactions to pass on discounted prices to buyers, a spokesman says. Brands and suppliers can set up storefronts at no additional cost when they subscribe to RangeMe Pro or Premium services that start at $1,399 per year, he adds.
