The transition between in-store and online sales can be difficult, but CarMax Inc. says its wholesale channel’s move to all-virtual sales is paying off and adding to record revenue for combined wholesale and omnichannel retail sales.

Wholesale unit sales—all processed online—increased year over year by 41.1% to 188,098 vehicles for the second quarter ended Aug. 31, reaching an all-time high quarterly record, the company says.
