Digital commerce has grown steadily in recent years at Fastenal Co., a trend that showed continued strength in the first quarter.
The distributor of fasteners and other industrial and construction products said yesterday that average Q1 daily ecommerce sales, including web and EDI transactions, surged by 35.5% year over year to $172.87 million in the first quarter ended March 31, as total sales increased by 3.7% to $1.42 billion.
