“IMTS spark” launched today with more than 2000 exhibitors of manufacturing technology in a digital version of the biannual International Manufacturing Technology Show. Exhibitors include such online manufacturing organizations as Gagesgalore.com, THK America and Xometry.

More than 2,000 companies fill the halls of Chicago’s McCormick Place convention center every other year at the biannual International Manufacturing Technology Show, which last ran in 2018. Starting today, the IMTS 2020 conference and exhibition will feature more than 2,000 exhibitors at IMTS spark, the digital version.

The IMTS event typically runs for one week every other year, featuring educational sessions in addition to exhibits of metalworking and other types of manufacturing technology. In recent years, exhibitors have been increasing their displays and information regarding how they and their clients use ecommerce portals for buying and selling, and how they’re using internet technology to better monitor machinery usage and maintenance.

IMTS spark, which runs Sept. 21 through March 15, 2021, will cover such conference topics as “The Evolving Industrial Channel eCommerce Landscape,” featuring Miriam Metcalfe, marketing manager, North America, at Schaumburg, Illinois-based metalworking tools manufacturer Dormer Pramet, which sells online at DormerPramet.com. Dormer Pramet is also an exhibitor at ITMS spark.

Other exhibitors at the digital show include GagesGalore.com, a Cleveland-based distributor of industrial gages; THK America Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of such industrial products as linear bushings and spherical bearings used in motion systems and sold online at THKstore.com; and Xometry, an international digital marketplace of manufacturing services.

IMTS spark is presented by the Association for Manufacturing Technology, which owns and operates IMTS, in conjunction with Gardner Business Media, a publisher of information for metalworking and other manufacturing industries.
