A new team of executives with experience at Amazon Business, SAP Ariba and Dell is putting a new face on the operations of marketplace BuildDirect.com.

An online seller and marketplace operator of home building materials is staffing up for a bigger run at the e-commerce market.

BuildDirect.com Technologies Inc., which specializes in selling large quantities of building materials and finished products for home improvement projects, in early 2016 launched Home Marketplace as an online portal where buyers, including professional building contractors and individual consumers, can purchase from a number of manufacturers and distributors. Products range from roofing and flooring materials to furniture and granite countertops.

Now BuildDirect is primed for a new stage of growth aided by four key hires to its executive ranks.

Two of these hires—newly minted chief revenue officer Ken Stanick and new chief technology officer Mukund Mohan—come to BuildDirect with lots of experience from Amazon Business, the B2B marketplace of Amazon.com Inc.

Stanick recently joined BuildDirect from Amazon Business, where he was the director of sales and channels and was part of the core group that launched Amazon Business in 2015. He has also worked at procurement services company SAP Ariba, where he was vice president of network solutions and helped develop the Ariba Network. He also helped to build Ariba’s global sales and marketing team. As chief revenue officer at BuildDirect, Stanick is charged with building out its commercial strategies and capabilities to accelerate sales.

Mohan also comes to BuildDirect from Amazon Business, where he was the director of automated quoting and analytics products. He will oversee BuildDirect’s global product and engineering staff and the use of new technology.

BuildDirect also has hired Amazon veteran Godwin Pavamani, who was Amazon’s global product leader for Prime Samples and head of vendor management for the personal computers/IT products category. Pavamani is BuildDirect’s new chief merchandising officer and general manager of marketplace.

Pavamani is responsible for BuildDirect’s marketplace financial performance across sourcing, category expansion, seller and buyer experience, pricing strategy, site merchandising and in-stock management. Previously, he also worked as a general manager at Sony Electronics and director of consumer sales and marketing at Dell.

Stephanie Roberts is BuildDirect’s new interim chief financial officer. Roberts will oversee the company’s financial activities, including long-term strategies, planning and optimization. Prior to BuildDirect, she worked as chief financial officer at Specialized Bicycle Components.

BuildDirect is adding on the new senior management as it evolves from an online seller of 6,000 SKUs into a business focused primarily on operating an online marketplace that offers more than 150,000 SKUs.

The new team of executives is led by CEO Dan Park, who took over the reins at BuildDirect last October after the resignation of CEO Jeff Booth, one of the company’s founders. Park was the company’s chief operating officer prior to being named CEO and has also worked as general manager and commercial vertical leader of Amazon Business.
